Sometimes the simplest foods are some of the best. Peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, spaghetti, BLTs, grilled cheese etc. By no means am I saying Ben and Jerry’s Vanilla Caramel Fudge is one of the best ice creams, I’m saying that it’s simple flavor profile makes for a tasty ice cream that will surprise most.
Ben and Jerry’s Vanilla Caramel Fudge is a vanilla ice cream base with swirls of caramel and fudge. Simple, right? Sure is. Typically, I’m not a fan of Ben and Jerry’s vanilla base, but it works well in this flavor. Both the caramel and fudge swirls balanced well with the vanilla base.
This pint reminded me of when I was younger and I’d take plain vanilla ice cream and pour caramel and chocolate syrup all over it. Simple flavors, fun to eat. One thing I do want to note is the swirls had a noticeable corn syrup flavor that added somewhat of an unpleasant flavor to them. I didn’t notice it through the entire pint, just a few scoops.
Overall, I enjoyed this flavor a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a fun, simple flavor that worked well. If you see this on the shelves, it’s worth a scoop. Rating: 8/10.
